Don't know if this is the correct location on the forum, but was hoping for some advice on acceptable wages. I have been offered a package including:

Basic pay 199500 AED/yr
Housing allowance 90000AED/yr
Car allowance 21000 AED/yr
50% school fees
Annual flight home

TOTAL 340000 AED/yr

Is this OK for a family of four. My lifestyle isn't excessive but I would like to enjoy life without scrimping by on the edge. Going out for a meal once a week and treating the kids on occasional outings, plus a bit of scuba, skiing and camping would be OK.

The position is as a project manager setting up a new testing laboratory for a UK firm. Does this package seem about right?

Very hard to gauge the rent costs. Looking at Mirdif - have been told 140k/yr will pay for a decent 3 bed villa but can't find anything on web or in Dubai newspaper I obtained recently. What 4x4 could I get for approx 40-50k? Does windows messenger work for web cam link to UK?

How easy would my wife find work. Currently finishing qualifications HR qualifications, but little experience.
